Abstract
An analysis was made of cases of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) diagnosed by utilizing a combination of laboratory tests which reflect the pathophysiology of the syndrome in Korea.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. In children, infection (64.8%) was the most common underlying disease, followed by leukemia, liver disease, in adults, infection(38.5%), leukemia, obstetric disease.
2. Hemorrhag only was observed at 52.8%, thrombosis only, 5.8% and both were observed at 6.1%.
3. diagnostic tests most frequently used for DIC were platelet, prothrombin time, fibrinogen, firbrinogen/fibrin degradation product, activated partial thromboplastin time.
4. Abnormla laboratory findings were increased FDP (99.5%), thrombocytopenia (95.6%) and prolonged APTT(78.6%), PT(75%) and increased fibrinogen(55.6%).
